Policy Revision Process
The school board routinely adopts and updates written policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The district has identified the Communication Coordinator as the designated South Carolina School Boards Association liaison who regularly communicates with SCASBA, reviews current policies, and assists in updating policies as needed.
There is a defined revision process that explicitly aligns older policies with new revisions according to legal updates, regulation changes, or district needs. Documents are modified in a format that is easily explainable and highlights needed changes. Any policy revisions or new policies will be posted here. Each proposed policy will require two readings at regular meetings of the board. After final approval, the newly adopted policy will be submitted to the SCSBA to be placed in the Barnwell School District 45 Online Policy Manual.
